My issue with fortified milk isn't the Vitamin D itself, but rather the corn oil emulsion that is used to get the vitamin D into suspension. Way back when, I'd discovered that was what gave me all my fun migraines after home made hot cocoa. So I'd been excited when I moved over to Jersey and had easy access to Organic valley whole milk with no vitamin D. (dude, 2 years without hot cocoa was an eternity).

Same issue w/ yogurt -- 2 years ago all the companies went crazy adding vitamin D to the yogurt and I found after I stopped eating it every morning, I stopped having the very pukey feeling prior to lunch.

Sadly, I'm pretty intolerant to soy milk as well thanks to my legume allergy (though soy affects me less than most beans). I'm hoping OV will tell me that they don't plan to to add D to their shelf stable variety of milk...if so, I'll definitely be looking at the yogurt makers again. Which kind do you have? I've been slow to buy one because every version I look at on amazon has several bad reviews.
