Okay...this is fun...hopefully - making soup w/out chicken stock. Misread the recipe and thought I didn't need it. At least today. I know I looked at the store the other day but couldn't find the brand I can use. Which isn't any great loss since it tastes like chicken flavored water. So dumped in regular water, garlic salt, and some poultry seasoning. hopefully btw that and the tomatoes it will come out decent. Now I'm glad I put in extra celery. Siiigh, at least it doesn't have any potatoes so I want have to dump lots of salt in.

And yes, spent the weekend procrastinating. But now much do something as the path that I've had through my piles o' crap has become compromised:P

I got a good recipe for you--you might be able to modify a few things. I'll be writing it up for you this week. Although, it never comes out right for me. Since my nana is a cooking goddess. I fall short. ~sighs~

I haven't heard that term used. Maybe because every cooking recipe, and terms was learned in spanish.

K, chicken stock is very concentrated broth made from chicken and other spices --- you then use it to make other chicken soups cause that's how it's been done forever?? Actually, no the real answer is you do it so that when you actually cook chicken soup you can then use less salt and unfatty cuts of meat. Generally you make stocks w/ legs/thighs/wings w/ lots of bones and fats. --> the meat that you then use for soups has less fat and doesn't end up oversalted. (trust me, only thing meat from stock is good for after wards is stuffing.).
